La historia de Platiquemos Therapy
Platiquemos, a simple word in Spanish that means "Let's chat!"

As a BIPOC, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ owned practice, Platiquemos Therapy prioritizes accessibility of care for those who may not see themselves represented within the larger mental health care community.
Platiquemos is centered on the values of human worth, intersectionality, radical connection, mind-body healing, courage y compasión.

Our Story
We are licensed clinical social workers with 10+ years of experience within social service and not-for-profit sectors, community-based programming, and private practice settings. We encompass diverse backgrounds and lived experiences and met during our master’s program at the Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC.
It was through our shared love of community, social justice, and chisme, that we became lifelong friends. In 2023, we decided to empower ourselves and our respective communities and created a therapy space safe for all humans: centered on anti-oppression, liberation, and intersectionality.
