Individual Therapy

Individual therapy refers to meeting one-to-one with your Platiquemos therapist, typically on a weekly or biweekly basis. Your first meeting is called an "intake session" where we will discuss why you are coming to therapy, review consent forms, any concerns and goals you have, and start to build the therapeutic relationship. We have eclectic expertise, meaning we are rooted in several, evidence-based psychotherapy and behavioral therapy approaches. We collaborate with each individual client on a treatment plan that is a best-fit for your needs, goals, hopes, and personal style.

Parent & Family Therapy

Platiquemos therapists have lived experience as parents and caregivers, in addition to clinical experience providing parent support in hospital, community, and private practice settings. We provide parent-specific therapy for individual caregivers, as well as conjointly with children, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent Management Training (PMT), and play therapy. We also offer family therapy, where multiple members of a family (whether that is biological, adopted, chosen, or community-based) can receive support in a shared space.

Clinical Supervision & Consultation

Platiquemos therapists are Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) with prior experience supervising pre-licensed therapists in both community mental health and private practice settings, as well as in both English and Spanish. We are especially invested in providing supervision for licensure for BIPOC, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ candidates, in addition to clinical consultation for therapists seeking support in a Platiquemos area of expertise. Please contact our office to inquire about therapists' availability and rates for supervision or consultation.

Therapists are also available to create and/or facilitate community- or event-specific consultation and workshops. Our existing bilingual curriculum includes series on child and adolescent development, parenting, mental health 101, youth mentorship, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. Please contact our office to inquire further.

Parent Coaching

Platiquemos believes in the power of healing through shared community with the aim of breaking generational cycles. We offer parent coaching that is culturally responsive and centers BIPOC, immigrant, Spanish-speaking, and queer caregivers of all genders and experiences.
